Family-Friendly Concert Provides Family Entertainment

Mesa, AZ – “You’re All I Want for Christmas” a family-friendly, holiday performance combining musical sketches, improv and audience interaction will be held 7 p.m., Dec 16 and 18 at the Mesa Arts Center, One E. Main St. in Mesa.

The special event stars world-renowned pianist Marvin Goldstein, Actor and Songwriter Kirby Heyborne and Classical Vocalist Sarah Morgann.  Tickets are $25 and $35 at the Mesa Arts Center box office or at www.mesaartscenter.com.  Information is also available by calling 480-644-6500.

“This performance is unique in that it offers festive and inspirational fun for everyone in the family,” said Cory Ellsworth, promoter of the project. “Experiences, rather than presents, really create the kind of holiday joy that many individuals are missing.  Those who see “You’re All I Want for Christmas” are sure to walk away with a holiday glow that will be remembered for many years to come.”

The joyous theme of the concert is an integral part of Goldstein’s approach to music and life.  He created the Goldstein’s Peace through Music Foundation.  The organization’s mission is to bridge the cultural, religious and political differences of people everywhere through the medium of music.

Goldstein, who is Jewish by birth but converted to the Mormon faith, has received world-wide recognition not only for his musical talents, but also for his humanitarian efforts.  One notable event was a highly successful tour in Haifa and Jerusalem, Israel, that brought Arabic, Israeli and American Jazz vocalists together in a night of Peace through Music.

Goldstein will also be an expert instructor in the Music & Music Business Seminar at the Phoenix Mesa Marriott, 200 N. Centennial Way in Mesa, Dec. 17 and 18.  The event is sponsored by Adelaide Music Group.  Signup is available online, through or at www.theadelaidemusicgroup.com or by calling 480-766-0381.

He completed a Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. His performance degrees were earned on the French horn. Marvin has many honors to his credit. He is listed in Who’s Who in Music in Europe at Cambridge, England. Additionally, Marvin is a National Keyboard Artist with the Kawai America Corporation. Marvin is currently working with Palestinian and Israeli singers, Arab and Jewish. He believes the power of music can, given the opportunity, change hearts, minds and souls and bring a lasting peace to The Middle East.Marvin travels extensively sharing his gift of music. Performances have included Anchorage, Alaska, Oahu, Hawaii, Copenhagen, Denmark, Amsterdam, Holland, Brussells, Belgium, Central America, various provinces of Canada, London, England, Sydney Australia at the Opera House and many more. He performed last year in the Baltic Capitals, Italy and Greece as well as several appearances all over the continental USA.

Kirby Heyborne is a singer, songwriter and actor who is known for his work in LDS films.  He is a self-taught musician who began playing the guitar at age 15.  He began writing his own music and lyrics and later toured Utah with the bands Shasta Daisy and Bentleigh.  In the mid 1990s he and band mate Marc Thorup, opened as an acoustic duo for various artists such as Peter Breinholt, Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band. During the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic Winter Games, Bentleigh performed at various events and parties and opened for N'SYNC at the Olympic Medals Plaza.

After graduating from the University of Utah, Kirby signed with an agent and began a career in acting.  While working on film, The R.M., Kirby let the producers know that he was a practicing musician.  He recorded both a hymn for a soundtrack, followed by one of his personal favorites, “I Believe in Santa Claus” for an upcoming Christmas album. In 2003 Kirby recorded a pop album and filmed a "making of the band" mockumentary called Sons of Provo. One of Kirby’s songs from the soundtrack, Beautiful Inside, caught the attention of filmmaker Christian Vuissa and they recorded the album Inside during December of 2004.  Kirby’s second solo album, Braver Days is released with Nathan DeVore as producer.  Kirby has appeared in 23 movies and television episodes and is the associate producer of Singles 2nd Ward and co-producer of Take a Chance, and Pirates of the Great Salt Lake.

Sarah Morgann is a vocalist from North Carolina. Her voice training comes from Dan Truhitte, famed for his movie role of Rolfe in The Sound of Music. She has been singing solo since the age of six. The requests for Sarah’s performances became so many by the age of twelve that she recorded a CD, Sarah Morgann.  This led directly to recording with Marvin Goldstein, famed concert pianist.  Their first collaboration, Journey of the Soul, has been tremendously successful. Their second album together, Angels We Have Heard On High, is a favorite in its genre.  After an inspiring trip to perform in Israel, Marvin and Sarah recorded Life of Christ, which was released in 2002.  Sarah’s fifth CD, Voices of Nauvoo, is a celebration of the Nauvoo, Illinois LDS temple and the people throughout the past who worked so hard to build it.  Her sixth CD, Cantatrice, is a compilation of classic love songs.  On this CD, Sarah collaborates once more with Marvin Goldstein and sings two special numbers with her friend and mentor, Dan Truhitte.   Sarah’s latest release, Encore, is full of deep reflections and emotions.  Two more CD’s will be released in the coming months and include some of Sarah’s own songs.

Currently, Sarah works recording for composers.  She frequently performs at benefits and at relief organizations, and she devotes her talents and resources on behalf of causes such as battered women, the Humane Society and the Red Cross. Sarah travels and performs at firesides, concerts, and special events.

Moab Utah For Wedding, Honeymoon, Anniversary And Receptions

Moab has evolved services for couples exploring wedding locations beyond a hometown or have been googling destination weddings. The United States isn’t regularly on the lists for wedding destinations. According to the Travel Industry Dictionary (which is provided courtesy of www.HomeTravelAgency.com ) destination wedding means - a wedding that takes place in a location other than the bride and groom's home, typically a popular tourist destination. Moab, long known as a tourist destination, recently proposed Moab for Weddings, Honeymoon or Anniversary and further proclaimed this news at three Bridal/Wedding shows in the 2010 New Year.

What is in store for a bride and groom choosing Moab? The charm of a haven in the desert, a place your guests will unequivocally enjoy for the outlandish scenery and surprising functionality of bringing loved ones together with little to distract them, but largely excite them for the novelty you will establish in choosing Moab, Utah.

Fly to Moab to be met by the Moab Taxi, Black Dog, Roadrunner, or Coyote Shuttle to carry you and, deem ably, your guests to the selected lodging of Moab. For pampering, Moab Licensed Massage Therapists have table and do travel to set up a tandem massage in your suite, cabin, guest house or condominium. Hair and nail stylists are available; you could add a manicure or pedicure.

Wedding licenses must have both the bride and groom present to sign during the weekday during the hours of 8 AM – 4 PM. The wedding needs only occur within 30 days of this initial date and the license resubmitted to the Grand County Clerks office with the official signatures for authentication within this time-line too.

Local florists will provide a wedding bouquet and boutonniere or center pieces and arbor designs. Cake bakers decorate with monograms, sugar sculptures, fondant or tiers of cupcakes with considerable precision. Moab musicians range from solo guitar and jazz trumpet to duets and dance bands and DJ. The wedding photographers of Moab relish the outdoors, so whether you choose to be inside or outside, the photographers are able to hike, raft and drive to your wedding site as easily as shooting at a bed & breakfast, hotel lawn, restaurant patio, or unique Moab venue you’ve chosen. Moab is often described as a quirky place. Local folks are no less professional, simply more relaxed, communicative and, well, fun.

The accumulation of ideas for a Moab Wedding Package can be discussed with Moab’s Facility and Event Promoter. Here are some weddings that have occurred in Moab already:

The Groom’s party floated by boat down the Green River; the Bride’s party floated down the Colorado River to rendezvous at the Confluence of the two rivers. A jet boat transported a few additional guests for the ceremony and returned these guests back to Moab afterward. The Bride and Groom and their entourage continued rafting through Cataract Canyon to finish upon Lake Powell and fly back to Moab.

A boy and a girl met on the Slickrock Bike Trail and returned 5 years later to marry. Most friends were able to bike, other guests rendezvoused arriving in 4 wheel drive vehicles of local 4x4 tour companies. The reception was held in a group campsite in the Sand Flats Recreation Area nearby.

The Bride and Groom arranged transportation to move 50 guests into one of Moab’s National Parks for a stand up wedding. The party then returned to the Bed & Breakfast in which they had booked all the rooms to enjoy a catered reception there, upon the lush lawn.

More than once a divine wedding took place in a Moab restaurant that then supplied the food and beverage and a dance floor and electricity for the dance music.

Rafting as a day excursion for guests makes perfect use of Moab’s river terrain. The Scenic Splash section is appropriate for kindergarten children to grandparents who are willing to get their feet wet. Upwards of 100 guests, the day includes lunch, the trip retails for around $55 per adult. Guests pay for themselves in advance.

Before or after your wedding, a couple should launch at sunrise in a Hot Air Balloon. If you take flight before the wedding and you have had an action packed few days, it may prove a nice respite for just the two of you among all the goodwill of your family and friends who are in attendance. With a launch on the morning after the wedding, when the balloon lands, the two of you may climb into your “Just Married” vehicle to depart from the gang who has been chasing you (they’ll want to snap pictures) for a private hike, just the two of you on a near-by trail or catch the noon departure, the flight, back to Denver and Home to your lives together.

Packages can be designed by a Moab travel company, Moab event planner; some businesses will be at your disposal to help or for those of the DIY caliber, order up services al a carte and consult with Moab’s Facility and Event Promoter. It has been the job of this position to know all things about events in Moab. Consultations are free to connect you to the relevant businesses and services for your wedding or honeymoon.
